Proper calibration allows color errors to be detected and neutralized in order to ensure a high-quality color display. The image settings on monitors usually have too much contrast, meaning that bright colors are overly lit, causing valuable details on bright areas to be lost. Dark colors are underlit, causing the details in shadows to be lost and the image to include significant color changes.

BEFORE CALIBRATION: White areas are overly lit and black-crushing occurs, causing the details in shadows to be lost. Saturation is too high, making the colors unrealistic. -
AFTER CALIBRATION: The image is neither too bright nor too dark, thereby retaining all the detail. The colors are realistic and easy on the eye.
WHY DO WE CALIBRATE?
All monitors, projectors, printers and TVs can be set to the same or at least similar color values, ensuring an excellent and as realistic color experience as possible. Regardless of whether it is for home or professional use – color values must be the same on all devices.
